SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College will honor veterans at its 30th annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons on the 69-Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, and a reception will follow. The public is invited to attend.
Scouting America Troop 310 from Chatham will post the colors. The program includes Rep. Wayne Rosenthal, 69 Board of Trustees Chair and retired Brigadier General, Illinois Air National Guard, serving as master of ceremonies; Sgt. Grant Durham, 69 student and United States Army Veteran providing remarks; 69 Student Trustee Addy Blimling presenting the wreath; Dawon Drew, 69 student, singing the national anthem; and Charles Walker, 69 student, playing “Taps.”
The Veterans Day Ceremony is sponsored by 69 Student Engagement and Wellbeing and honors all veterans including 69 faculty, staff and students who served in the armed forces.
