- Learn various sterilization principles and methods including autoclaving, chemical, disinfection and gas sterilization.
- Hone your attention to detail and strict protocols including preparation, packaging, storage, recordkeeping and documentation with classroom and laboratory learning.
- Polish your communication and customer service skills as part of a health care team.
- Prepare to sit for the Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the Certified Registered Central Service Technician exam through the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IACSMM).

Cost
The Central Sterile Technician program consists of two classes: HLT 109 and SGT 100.
For the 2025-2026 academic year (fall 2025, spring 2026 and summer 2026), HLT 109 has a standard tuition rate of $143.50 per credit hour for in-district residents. SGT 100 has a tuition rate of $287 per credit hour for in-district residents. Get more information on tuition and fees.

Information/Tours
Central sterile service technician is a selective admission program and the minimum criteria must be met to enter to apply. There is not a separate application for the CSST program. 69·çÁ÷ does not guarantee admission to the program which begins in the fall and spring.
