Guidance for 69风流 Faculty, Staff and Students on Federal Immigration Enforcement Activity on Campus

Purpose: Developed in accordance with State of Illinois Public Act 104-0440 (signed into law on Dec. 9, 2025)

Immediate actions

  • If Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is observed on campus:

    • Call 69风流 Police Department (69风流PD) immediately at 217-786-2278
      • Provide location and any pertinent details
    • 69风流PD will:
      • Respond in person at the main campus or by phone at outreach centers
      • Notify the Vice President of Administrative Services
      • Contact college legal counsel if needed
      • Make notification to any and all students or staff members who are being sought by Federal Immigration Authorities.

    If contacted or approached by an ICE official

    • Remain calm and professional
    • Inform them 鈥 鈥69风流PD is your point of contact.鈥
    • Immediately call 69风流PD and give your location
    • Ask the agents to wait for 69风流PD

    • Do NOT:

      • Consent to anything
      • Accept any paperwork
      • If shown a warrant or subpoena, say:
        鈥淚 am not authorized by the college to grant access to non-public areas or provide any information. Please wait here for 69风流PD so they can assist you.鈥
      • For Outreach Centers, Medical District, off-site locations 鈥 69风流PD will contact via phone

      Access rules

      • Public spaces:
        • Agents may enter freely (e.g., Lincoln Commons, hallways, Student Union, sidewalks, parking lots)
      • Restricted/Non-Public areas (Examples: private offices, classrooms, maintenance areas, storage rooms):
        • Agents should not enter without:
          • Judicial warrant 鈥 verified by 69风流 Police
          • Consent 鈥 provided by 69风流 Police
