What we offer

Writing support is provided by writing specialists and English department faculty who work with students at any stage of the writing process, from generating ideas to revising and editing a final draft.

Tutoring is available in-person or online; students are encouraged to make appointments to guarantee services at their preferred time. The Learning Center has computers, printers and writing resources available for student use. Highly trained writing specialists and faculty are available to help you with:

  • Prewriting
  • Drafting
  • Editing
  • MLA/APA Styles
  • Other concerns about writing assignments for any course

The services are open to currently enrolled 69·çÁ÷ students and staffed by faculty and highly trained tutors. – Get one-on-one or group support in a variety of subjects.

The Learning Center at 69·çÁ÷ offers FREE one-on-one peer tutoring in many courses to currently enrolled 69·çÁ÷ students. Peer tutors can assist students in-person and online through Microsoft Teams. Both daytime and evening appointments are offered. The Learning Center staff can help you select a tutor who meets your time requirements. Or , view walk-in hours and get connected.

Brainfuse.com

69·çÁ÷ also offers free online tutoring to currently enrolled students through Brainfuse.com. Students can access Brainfuse through their . Simply log into any of your current courses in Canvas and click "Brainfuse Online Tutoring" along the left sidebar. This button will log you directly into the Brainfuse.com website.

NOTE: The pop-up blocker feature must be turned off in order for the Brainfuse window to open!

69·çÁ÷ learning specialists are staff who are experts in college learning strategies. They will work with you to improve your performance in the classroom. During an appointment with a learning specialist, you will use your own textbooks and assignments to review content while also learning appropriate study strategies for your courses. Learning specialists also offer free workshops and seminars each semester.

– Choose from peaceful individual nooks or collaborative group areas, all designed to support focused learning — with beautiful views of Lake Macoupin to inspire and refresh.

The Learning Center supports student athletes by providing a quiet study space in Sangamon Hall. Students can study on their own or in small groups and access services such as tutoring, math assistance and writing support.

First-year student athletes are required to put in four hours of study time per week in The Learning Center.
