Program Highlights

Respiratory care therapists deliver diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients across their lifespan, from newborns to older adults.

  • Devleop a solid understanding of cardiopulmonary sciences behind various respiratory conditions like asthma and COPD.
  • Master hands-on techniques for assessing, diagnosing and treating respiratory patients of all ages, including trauma care and neonatal/pediatric/adult critical care.
  • Undertand respiratory care in outpatient settings like pulmonary rehabilitation, sleep and home care.
  • Train at HSHS St. John's Hospital, giving you direct access to patients, hospital equipment and real-world experience.

69·çÁ÷ offers the following programs to successfully equip you for a career in respiratory care. . Students should consult with the program director before enrolling in RCP courses. 

Cost

For the 2025-2026 academic year (fall 2025, spring 2026 and summer 2026), respiratory care (RCP) classes have a tuition rate of $287 per credit hour for in-district residents. All other classes in the program have a standard in-district rate of $143.50 per credit hour. Total estimated in-district tuition, variable tuition and fees for the RCP AAS program is $17,255.50. Selective Admission

Applications for the respiratory care program will be accepted through the second Thursday in June, or until the program is filled. Admission to Lincoln Land Community College does not guarantee acceptance to the program, which begins in the fall. 

Students who choose to pursue an applied science degree in respiratory care must meet the minimum criteria to enter the applicant pool.

To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).

The Lincoln Land Community College Respiratory Care Program #200481, AAS degree at St. John's campus is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation for Respiratory Care ().

CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.
